The Movie Mission

Children taken by force with their families from home Lithuania during mass deportation into the USSR (1940-1952) are like small trees pulled out with roots. Little persons were transferred onto the strange ground, into the new, unknown and severe world. Sometimes survival in this world was dramatic and painful.

What about those children who managed to survive? Who and what were giving them strength to accustom themselves, to live and dream?  Was it motherly love? Was it hope on fathers who would never return*? Was it inherited memory of home Lithuania? Was it faith in salvation, justice or a guardian angel?  Or probably it was a big dream like Rimas’, the main character of our movie?
Note: * Usually men were separated from their families and taken
to prison camps or settlements. Lithuanian men were usually taken
to the neighborhood of Krasnoyarsk.  Most of them ended their
       lives there.

Rimas managed to survive in Siberia, went through incredible adventures, got to Alaska, realized his dream to become a pilot in the USA and returned to freed Lithuania by the route of Darius and Girenas. What is the cost of this life-long journey?   The answer for this question is in the future movie.

The mission of the “Life-Long Return” movie is to show the audience the unique micro world and the main character’s story as the epic drama of humanity.  This tragedy has touched millions of people who lost their Homeland in their childhood. Only few of them could remain themselves, preserve their heritage and identity with their family and people having gone through physical survival in a strange land, through spiritual growth to love for their neighbors, through learning to forgive their enemies and understanding of universal values, through painful return of Homeland and overcoming the impression of being foreign native and finally reuniting with their home.

This film is going to be a spiritual odyssey of the hero who returns to his Homeland and learns the truth of his life during life-long journey.
